| This workshop is
loaded with information necessary to choose which saw to buy. Topics such as set up out of
the box, alignment, tune-up, maintenance, horsepower, fences, dust collection, and saw
blades will be helpful to experienced and novice woodworkers alike. A safety discussion,
cut off tables and supports, jigs and fixtures, feather boards, a high fence, and sliding
tables will demonstrate the need for home made safety devices. Tips are offered for
getting better results cutting plywood sheets, rabbet and dado joints, raised panels,
picture frame molding, and cove cutting. Cut 4' by 8' sheets into specific sizes.

Router I Prerequisite none but Jumpstart

gives you a hands-on experience with hand-held routers, bits, router tables, and plunge
routers. Learn which features are important before buying. Maintenance, adjustments, jigs
and fixtures are also discussed.

techniques and hands-on opportunities especially for plunge router and router table use.

I - Solid wood joinery is featured in this technique packed workshop
from the simplest lap joint to the compound angled shadow boxes. You do all of the work to
set up the table saws to cut joints that interest you the most.

Laminate Bending Prerequisite: none Curved

furniture and sculpture. Learn how to design and make
forms for Strip Laminate Bending. See many ways to prepare strips
for this process. Design curved shapes into your next project
after finishing this course.

Tool Maint./Setup/Alignment - Learn how to make your
shop tools perform best. Gain tips from experienced woodworkers to
help in troubleshooting existing problems. Knowing about ease of
set-up, maintenance, alignment and blade changing matters in making
the best choices when purchasing machines. First, a 15" planer is
dissected and realigned including infeed and outfeed rollers, chip
breaker, table rollers and blade changing. All maintenance and
lubrication will be demonstrated. The jointer receives the same
attention so that both tools perform at their peak. Next the drill
press, disk and belt sanders and thickness drum sanders will be
attended to. Even though the band saw is covered in the band saw box
class, if time permits, it will be aligned in this class. The table
saw is covered in Table Saw I.

I. Jumpstart II is
preferred but not essential - Using a sliding
table sled on a table saw is the safest way to make cross cuts.
Make two sliding tables with three safety saw guards.

I. Jumpstart II is
preferred but not essential -Make one adjustable high fence for the table saw and
