STRIP LAMINATE BENDING |
Curved shapes
with structural integrity are important to furniture making as seen in Jerrys
comprehensive slide presentation of modern furniture and sculpture. Learn
how to design and make forms for Strip Laminate Bending. See many ways to prepare strips
for this process. Helpful tips will be shared for achieving the best results in lieu of
spring-back and bend-in. Adhesive choices are many and dried glue removal from bends
requires special techniques as does shaping through glue lines. Design curved shapes into
your next project after finishing this course. There isn't time
for making individual projects, but you might want to make this
mirror at home. You will have an opportunity to look at
templates and make templates to take home. The new form that
is made is that of a horse shoe shaped mirror frame.

choices when purchasing machines. First, a 15" planer is dissected
and realigned including infeed and outfeed rollers, chip breaker,
table rollers and blade changing. All maintenance and lubrication
will be demonstrated. The jointer receives the same attention so
that both tools perform at their peak. Next the drill press, disk
and belt sanders and thickness drum sanders will be attended to.
Even though the band saw is covered in the band saw box class, if
time permits, it will be aligned in this class. The table saw is
