Director/Instructor Jerry Konicek
Jerry specializes in helping woodworkers
develop abilities to produce professional quality
projects.He is in his eleventh year of teaching at the Woodworker Academy, and has taught
entry level to advanced woodworkers in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1983. Jerry earned an MFA
degree in furniture making and adult woodworking education at the University of
Wisconsin-Madison. He has taught chair design at the Haywood Community College-Center for
Production Crafts in North Carolina, instructed power tool techniques and furniture making
at the San Francisco Shopsmith Woodworking Academy, held project oriented workshops for
wood/tool stores, and tutored one-on-one in client's wood shops. Jerry first worked as a
commercial cabinet maker/manager and then operated his own designer/craftsman furniture
business. He has designed and built woodwork shops for individual hobbyists, schools, and
industry. Several of his furniture designs are published in Fine Woodworking Design Book
Two and Three.

Scott Wynn, Hand Tool
Technique
Scott, a third generation woodworker, has been designing
and building furniture professionally since 1976. He is broadly experienced in the
building trades, carving, millwork, and cabinetry and is both a licensed contractor and a
registered architect. He has authored numerous articles on woodworking techniques for Fine
Woodworking, Fine HomeBuilding and Woodwork magazines. His work has been
published in national publications and has been exhibited at many galleries and shows. |
