Box II Hardware Installation |
 |
| Prerequisites:
Router I and Jumpstart I After making a large box, you will mount many types of
hinges, lid supports, locks and pulls into the same lid. For more opportunities, you can
cut the bottom off the box to create a second lid. No one will be expected to buy all
the different hardware used in this class; however several sets of each hardware will be
available for fitting. Fabricate templates for routing quadrant hinge, butt hinge, and soss hinges. These production techniques usually produce cleaner mortises then chiseling
them by hand. Your practice box will be especially useful for the Jewelry
Box class for the next time you will need to mount hardware on your box
making projects. Please note: you must have taken Jumpstart
I and Router I
prior to coming to this class.
